NWOMC Stories Map

The Northwestern Ontario Métis Community has developed an interactive story map to showcase our history and its connection to the lands and waters we call home.

The map features stories about some of the many people, families, places, and events that shaped our community’s history. It explores themes such as our fur trade and economic history, the 1875 Adhesion to Treaty 3, changing boundaries, and the construction of the Dawson Route. The map also showcases Métis family histories and the places where our ancestors lived, worked, and put down roots. There are also maps exploring what our community looks like today.
